A great day was had by all at Connaught Village’s Summer Festival on Thursday 17 June. The highly successful event was organised by Halogen on behalf of Village landlords, the Church Commissioners for England. Halogen has recently added event planning to its existing PR & marketing remit for the high-end retail quarter in central London
The summer street party - which was themed as a celebration of food, fashion and art - welcomed over 800 local residents and visitors with a selection of festivities that included a food market, a children’s marquee and fashion displays from leading fashion boutiques
For the first time, this year’s line up also included live music by Welsh band, Under The Driftwood Tree, who created a fantastic festival atmosphere with performances throughout the afternoon from the stage located in Connaught Street
Prior to the event, Halogen worked closely with Village retailers to agree a wide range of competitions, offers and promotions. On the day, many of the galleries, fashion boutiques and restaurants participated by staying open late. Many retailers laid on drinks receptions for their late night shoppers
In the run up to the festival, Halogen secured coverage in local and national press. It also created a bespoke advertorial in Time Out magazine and ran an advertising campaign in the key local papers across north and west London
Kelly Bradshaw, Account Director at Halogen, commented: “We aimed to create an event that would draw in new customers and benefit the retailers themselves, as well as create additional activities and attractions in the Village on the day. The great weather and live music both helped to create a relaxed atmosphere for local families, as well as visitors and tourists, to enjoy all that Connaught Village has to offer.”
