Halogen stokes public interest in Potteries redevelopment

Halogen is currently organising and managing a wide-ranging public consultation programme for Realis Estates’ proposed redevelopment of the East West Centre in Stoke-on-Trent City Centre

A recent exhibition – which forms the centrepiece of the process - was visited by over 1,100 local residents and businesses. Hundreds of attendees completed questionnaires with their comments about the scheme, with 86% stating that they are in favour of the developer’s proposals.  Other elements of the public consultation programme include a website (www.eastwestcentre.co.uk), newsletters that were delivered to over 10,000 households in the local area, a series of briefings with local stakeholders and an ongoing media relations campaign

Realis Estates plans to transform the East West Centre site into a £250 million shopping destination that will include over 600,000 sq ft (55,750m2) of new retail space (including an anchor department store), cafés, restaurants, vibrant public spaces, a multi-screen cinema, an hotel, a modern bus facility and 1,000 parking spaces

Linda Welch, Director at Halogen, comments, “Halogen’s joined-up approach sets us apart from the competition.  The public consultation programme for the East West Centre redevelopment is yet another example of how our integrated communications campaigns can deliver tangible results for clients”
