Acting on behalf of The St David’s Partnership, a joint venture between Land Securities and Capital Shopping Centres, Halogen recently organised the launch of Cardiff’s St David’s 2 scheme at a major retail property event held in the Royal Opera House in London’s Covent Garden
Some of the country’s leading retailers and retail/leisure agents gathered in the Opera House’s Paul Hamlyn Hall for a Welsh-theme lunch. The stunning venue provided the perfect backdrop to showcase the new £675 million city centre regeneration project
The event was fully branded throughout, with everything from invitations and banners to tablecloths and waiting staff polo shirts featuring the hot pink and black that is used so effectively across all the St David’s 2 marketing material. There was even a giant pink logo on the stage.
Guests tucked into to a Welsh menu that included Oen Cymreig Melog (honeyed Welsh lamb), laver bread and Caerphilly & leek tart. Brains beer had been brought up from Cardiff for the occasion
Welsh rugby legend turned television presenter Jonathan Davies entertained the assembled throng. A Cardiff resident, “Jiffy” spoke passionately of a city rich with heritage but that is also fully embracing its future. And, although he told a number of amusing stories about his rugby playing days, declined to explain the origin of his nickname!
All of those who attended were presented with an Ipod Shuffle as they left - pink of course
