Halogen cuts the ribbon on the new Market Place car park in Romford

Halogen managed the successful handover event for Romford’s newest multi-storey car park in March 2006. The car park at Market Place has now officially been delivered to the London Borough of Havering (LBH)

The Mayor of Havering Cllr. John Mylod and Lady Mayoress Cllr. Patricia Mylod arrived at the event in style in a 2005 Bentley Arnage. Joined by Nigel Lewis and Clive Thompson of The Beadie Group, developers of the £40 million mixed-use Market Place development, the Mayor cut a ceremonial ribbon and received the keys to the car park management offices

The four-level, 251-space car park features two extra-height levels created specifically to accommodate vehicles for Romford Market traders. It forms an important element of the new development, for which Halogen provides a wide range of PR & marketing consultancy services

When completed Market Place will include 6,652 sq m (71,612 sq ft) of integrated retail and leisure, a 1,243 sq m (13,388 sq ft) standalone ‘Signature’ building, as well as 115 one- and two-bedroom apartments. In addition, there will be a new 80-bedroom Travelodge Hotel and a doctor’s surgery as well as a new facility for the Romford Shopping Hall

More than 60 people attended the event, including representatives from the London Borough of Havering, the development team and other local VIPs
