Halogen organises start on site previews for the Atrium, Camberley

Leading property communications specialist Halogen recently organised two successful presentations for Crest Nicholson and Standard Life Investments to promote their £130 million Atrium mixed-use development in Camberley town centre

The presentations, which were held in Camberley on successive Wednesday evenings in mid-September, and were followed by formal updates to the local media, provided previews of the scheme to Borough Councillors and local retailers a few weeks ahead of the official start on site on 19 October

The Atrium is a joint venture between Crest Nicholson Regeneration, Standard Life Investments and Surrey Heath Borough Council. It combines 247,000 sq ft (22,947 sq m) of integrated town centre retail and leisure space with 217 one and two bed apartments totalling 107,000 sq ft (9,941 sq m)

The development is set to extend and revitalise Camberley’s town centre, offering a wider choice of shops and leisure. A number of top retailers and leisure operators - including Vue, Bowlplex, Next, Virgin, Café Rouge and Nando’s - have already committed to The Atrium, with construction underway and the first wave of stores scheduled to open in time for Christmas 2007

Laura Torrance, Account Director at Halogen, commented “Communication is vital across every aspect of a project. With a start on site nearing, new retailers and leisure operators signed and a funding deal agreed, it was the right time to present an update to the Borough Council and the local retailers and businesses, whose support is essential to the long term success of the scheme. The events were very well attended and have been productive meetings both in terms of presenting the scheme and understanding local views on it”
