Halogen gets the timing right in Romford

Top UK property PR & marketing communications consultancy Halogen was behind the successful co-ordination of the press launch and reception to mark the installation of Romford’s newest landmark – a clocktower which now sits atop a new building located in the famous 750+ year old Market Place. Installed in October 2005, the clock forms part of the mixed-use scheme known as Market Place, Romford, which is being developed by Pickenham (Romford), a division of the Beadie Group

The arrival of the 9m high clock was celebrated with a party for 70 VIPs including council officials, the development team members and members of the public who were invited to see the clock switched on for the first time by Cllr Mylod, the Mayor of Romford and local MP Andrew Rossindell along with Thomas Fallon, a local 7-year-old VIP who was selected as part of a public competition arranged by Halogen with a local newspaper to chose the design of the weathervane that sits on top of the clock

Following the switch-on of the clock, the fully-catered luncheon and presentations took place on the top floor of the development’s Phase One ‘Signature Building’. Halogen also helped select and brand a commemorative gift clock for participants at the event. The event resulted in local newspaper and radio coverage as well as stories in the retail and property trade press
