Halogen promotes Halesowen regeneration project

Halogen, the UK’s top property PR & marketing consultant, has been retained to help Vale Retail secure planning consent for a £25 million regeneration of the Cornbow Shopping Centre in Halesowen

In advance of the submission of a planning application to Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council in April, Halogen has co-ordinated a public consultation process including an exhibition in the existing Cornbow shopping centre at which members of the development team gathered feedback and answered any questions from tenants and members of the public

The result was an overwhelming 94% level of support for the proposal — the highest that Halogen has achieved in 20 years of organising public consultation for major planning proposals. More than 800 people out of the 2,600 who visited the exhibition filled in questionnaires and more than 4,000 leaflets were distributed to the public during the exhibition

If approved, Vale’s proposals will bring a full-range 6,970 sq m ASDA store to the town as well as a new 580 space car park providing with improved layout, disabled access, security and lighting; redevelopment of the former Murco petrol filling station; upgrade to the exterior of the Cornbow Centre along Queensway; and a new entrance at Queensway Mall level to integrate with Centro’s proposed plans for a new bus station
