Halogen, the pioneering property PR & marketing communications consultancy, has been appointed by Karis Holdings (a joint venture between ING Real Estate Development UK and Karis Developments) to provide Planning PR and and Media support for the King Alfred project in Brighton & Hove
The £220 million residential-led mixed-use scheme, which combines the talents of Gehry Partners and HOK Sports who designed Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium and the Sydney Olympic Stadium as well as public art to be created by Antony Gormley, is already being acclaimed as the most significant development in Britain for a century
The development, to be built on Hove’s seafront and on the site of the 65-year old King Alfred Leisure Centre, will comprise 750 homes, retail and leisure space and a state-of-the-art sports and leisure centre.
Halogen will deliver a targeted communications campaign that will seek to generate positive support for the scheme
In the immediate future, Halogen will be heavily involved in the comprehensive public consultation process
Director Gerwyn James who is leading work on the account comments:
“We are delighted to have secured such a prominent role in one of the most high profile developments underway anywhere in the world. It is a once in a lifetime opportunity to work on a Gehry scheme and will provide the unique challenge of managing rather than courting attention”
