Halogen has SCM conference covered

Working behind the scenes at BCSC’s Shopping Centre Management Conference for the tenth year, the Halogen team managed another successful media relations campaign for the prestigious retail property event

Over 500 retail property managers, a range of trade and local journalists, and an array of industry expert speakers, visited Liverpool’s ACC during the course of the three-day event held in March 2009

The media relations programme was targeted at the retail and property trade press including specialist publications such as Shopping Centre magazine. Business correspondents from the Liverpool Post and Echo were also invited to interview the Conference Chair and attend relevant sessions - including the address from Liverpool City Council Leader, Warren Bradley - who described the extensive and successful regeneration of the city

During the event, the Halogen team ensured the media were kept informed of the key conference and seminar sessions delivered by speakers from organisations including Waitrose and Hammerson. A number of press releases were compiled, focusing on the key themes of the event, including asset management, customer service and consumer trends

Halogen Account Director, Kelly Bradshaw, who managed the media relations programme for the event, comments: “Our strategy was to focus on the conference themes that were most relevant to our target media in the current economic climate. We also worked to develop good relations with the local press in the run-up to the event. As a result, we have reinforced BCSC’s position as the leading authority within the retail property industry and its key role in encouraging best practice in shopping centre management.”
