Trinity Walk shopping centre in Wakefield has had a record year after a wave of new lettings, campaigns and events.

The shopping centre surpassed its footfall record in 2015 after seeing 11.22million shopping visits throughout last year, up 4% on 2014.

The centre, which opened in 2011, also recorded its busiest ever week after welcoming around 289,000 shoppers in December during a seven day period.

Trinity Walk is consistently bucking national and regional trends, with the centre now at its highest occupancy in its five-year history with just a couple of units available.

Major international jewellery brand, Pandora, was the first to open in early December 2015 in a 1,275 sq ft unit. The store has been proving very popular with customers and is still seeing high numbers on a daily basis.

The Works, the popular all-round stationery and book store, opened shortly after in a 2,387 sq ft unit.

Then followed PureGym giving members state of the art gym facilities 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in a 23,621 sq ft space, ready for the busy New Year period.

Further to retail lettings, Regus is to add to its portfolio with its first office opening in Wakefield in a 7,320 sq ft office, making it their 20th centre in West Yorkshire.

Pandora franchisee, Paul Rice, MD at High Rice, added:

“The launch of the new Wakefield store at Trinity Walk has been extremely successful. December saw us welcome a high amount of customers through the door and the feedback we received has been hugely positive. We’re very much looking forward to a great year in 2016.”

Trinity Walk is set to celebrate its fifth birthday in May 2016 with more plans already in the pipeline.
